Mark De Winne

Mark De Winne is passionate about typography, storytelling, and like any Singaporean — food. Since graduating from TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2014, Mark’s work has spanned branding, typography, and interior design, balancing commercial sensibility with aesthetic depth in serving various organizations across lifestyle, arts & culture, government, and technology.

In 2018, he was part of the inaugural batch of Ascenders, a Type Director’s Club competition recognizing inspiring designers under the age of 35. He is currently a director at Eight Inc.

He will publish a stencil typeface with Typofonderie in the future.

Particular signs

He is the designer of the specimen of Anisette. But, when not designing, he is looking at vernacular letterforms that dot the sunny island of Singapore, documented on Instagram as @singaporegothic. He enjoys playing the drums and has a knack for mimicking accents and trumpet sounds.
