Parisine Office, designed in 2005 by Jean François Porchez, as corporate face of the Ratp won a star at the national French design competition, Observeur du design 07 on the 10th October 2006. This prize is unusual for typefaces, as most of the others “stars” are 3D design. It clearly indicates that typefaces are not an ephemera design. The competition was organized by the Agence pour la promotion de la création industrielle, a joint venture of both Ministère de l’industrie and Ministère de la culture to promote design quality. An exhibit of the winners is open until the 14th January 2007, at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie museum in Paris.

Porchez Typofonderie congratulates its client, the Ratp, for which it started working with, in 1995 on the Parisine project. Attoma design, which wasn’t involved in the design of the typeface family was associated to this “star” as the agency in charge of the application (in 2006) of Parisine Office.
