Real Simple redesign use Parisine PTF Gris

During the summer we’ve been asked by Real Simple to customize Parisine PTF for their own use. They suggested via their specially appointed type director for the redesign, Christian Schwartz, that Parisine should have taller ascenders and descenders for better result on text setting. And the result was quite surprising as much more nicer for text, no so much in fact, as Parisine Office PTF was a redesign of Parisine PTF with smaller x-height. But the new Parisine PTF Gris is different, as its strictly the same design as Parisine PTF with just different ascenders and descenders, the x-height don’t change. Added to this modification, the weights have been adjusted: A new Regular between the original Parisine PTF Clair Bold and Parisine PTF Regular (as on the image above). Bold follow same mechanism. Finally, it’s also why this new special family was called Gris (Gray in English).
Real Simple use on its redesign conducted by Janet Froelich with Eva Spring not only Parisine PTF Gris but also the usual Parisine PTF and Parisine PTF Plus, Parisine Office PTF along their usual PMN Caecilia.
